NPE2012: 20% of expected space already taken in pre-drawing

Member companies of SPI, the Plastics Industry Trade Assn., specifically those that exhibited in at least 15 of SPI’s past 26 NPE Shows, came out of their “pre-drawing” for exhibit space with more than they expected: about one-fifth of the total anticipated exhibit space is already booked.
Long-time participants complete booth space lottery for NPE2012

Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI; Washington, DC) member companies that have exhibited in at least 15 of the 26 NPEs participated in a lottery on Monday that will determine the initial order in which exhibitors choose space for NPE2012 in Orlando. The 64 participating companies were grouped by exhibiting history, according to Gene Sanders, Sr. VP trade shows SPI, with the Member 26 group, for example, consisting of companies that have exhibited at all 26 NPEs.
Date set for NPE2012 booth space drawing

For companies that will exhibit at NPE2012, the show starts long before opening day. January 12-14, 2011 has just been set for the booth Space Draw by the show's organizer SPI, and naturally the drawing will take place at NPE's new venue-Orlando, FL. Will a shift in dates create potential conflicts for NPE2012?

In addition to changing the location of its triennial show from Chicago to Orlando, the Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) also shifted the dates for NPE, moving from June to April, and creating the potential for conflicts with other industry events.
New officers at SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association

The new roster of officers for SPI, the U.S. plastics industry trade association based in Washington, D.C. has been announced, following an election held during the group's national board meeting in mid-October. The new chairman of the board is Chris Keller, president of the Conair Group (Cranberry Twp., PA).
The full slate of elected officers includes:
Vice Chairman - Jay Cude, President and CEO, Coeur Inc. (Lebanon, TN)
Treasurer - Fred Daniell, Chief Operating Officer, Kureha America Inc. (New York, NY)
